There is a spell in every flower-
A sweetness in each spray,
And every simple bird has power
To please me with its lay!
And there is music on each breeze
That sports along the glade;
The crystal dew-drops on the trees
And I! - my heart is full of joy,
And gratitude is there,
That He, who might my life destroy,
Has yet vouchsafed to spare.
And now there is a happiness
In every thing I see,
Which bids my soul rise up and bless
Lovely poem and photos, Joanna.
ReplyDeleteIt must be pretty cold up there, but hopefully, no frost yet!
Glad you liked them! :) It was pretty chilly today...57 for a high with rain, and we have a low of 39 in the forecast for Thursday. Hopefully the frost will hold off a little while yet though!
DeleteI just can't wrap my head around such a short growing season. Hot, muggy here. Hurricane Dorian going to come up the coast. Wiped out Bahamas. If it stays up the east coast, we will be o.k. just rain showers and some wind gusts. Everyone is a wreck not knowing what it will do. We are all prepared,just in case. Beautiful pics and lovely poem. Veleria
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about you as that hurricane approaches...scary! I can't imagine living under that kind of suspense. I hope and pray that you don't get hit too hard. Glad to hear that you are prepared! <3
