’Tis a month before the month of May,
And the Spring comes slowly up this way.
~Coleridge
Slowly but surely! Compare this picture from March 23rd...
...with this from today!

How is spring progressing in your neck of the woods? 😊
I have wild clematis on my fence line to the east. They are so pretty but they can take over and become a problem.
ReplyDeleteI love your snow pics. Week before last we had a few days in the 90's. This week a cold front came thru and cooled things down to 40° at night and 70's during the day. Just perfect. My Easter lilies are up about 16". Many other perennials up and starting to bloom. I love spring. Veleria
I guess it depends on the climate and the species of clematis...I read that this kind is rather scarce!
Delete90s...wow! I'm sure you are glad to be having some cooler weather. And I love Easter lilies! :)
You must be so excited! Don't you love the smell of earth as the ground thaws? Are the pussy willows out?
ReplyDeleteIt must be hard to see everyone ahead of you in terms of spring, which for some starts in January! My small bulbs are out: chionodoxa, puschkinia, crocus and the last of the snowdrops in the shadier places. 'Jetfire' narcissi started blooming yesterday when the temps reached 60.
I hope you and your family are well. Rural living has its benefits during this pandemic. We are free to come and go, unlike those in suburban areas. Thankful for that. Stay safe, enjoy the unfolding of spring!
Yes the fresh smell of earth is delightful! And the pussy willows are out too! :)
DeleteIt is a bit hard seeing practically everyone else has some flowers by now and my garden still covered in snow. A friend joked that this is a wonderful place to live, but don't travel in March or April or you will never return! :D We are expecting 8-12 inches of snow tomorrow night. But I know it will melt fast and we'll be seeing our first crocuses before we know it. :)
We are doing well...Maine is under a stay-at-home order until at least May 1st, except essential trips to the store, etc. I'm so thankful it's spring as it helps get our minds off everything that's going on!
